I’ve never really been an anime fan - especially when the anime club in every school look like a congregation of losers without lives. I used to watch a few after school when was in my early teens, for dinner companionship. But I like watching anime now (though I’m not one of them no-life people), thanks to a certain someone, who forced me to watch Blood+.
Animes offer a mature escape from reality - unlike most cartoons. For me, watching TV or movies have always just been an escapade from reality. That means I don’t watch anything unless I’m forced, stressed or emotionally disturbed. This is why I don’t like watching shows with real actors. I prefer them to be as far as reality as possible. As a kid/teen, I’d watch cartoons. But now, at 21, cartoons have lost their appeal. And animes has filled the hole that cartoons cannot.
Yeah, I haven’t blogged like I said I’d try to. I was going to do a Windows Vista vs OS X special and ode to a man I never knew I had a crush on, Mr. David Beckham. All in due time. Today, I have an ode to something else…
…maybe blogging has become passe to me. Or maybe the world has shushed up the once gung-ho opinionated little girl. Maybe I’m just busy - like I always claim to be.
The sad truth is that it’s not because I’m all that busy. It’s YouTube. You can blame it all on YouTube. My free time was once engaging with the wonderful world of CSS and PHP. Then topped off with some delicious opinions for readers to masticate on. But no, now my free time is spent idle, in anticipation for the next great production from HappySlip or MarkDayComedy. Then when their airtime is over, I would devour episodes of Avatar the Last Airbender. Not to mention Beauty and the Geek, ANTM and The Apprentice. What about all the Batman episodes that I used to watch as a wee little lass? Don’t forget all the random ads like Volkswagen VEE-DUB.
Oh Snap! What a deesusturrr. I think I lost my mind (and my words) to the wonderful world of Web 2.0.
